I firmly believe in ‘the dentists’ motto “Oral health is fundamental to lifelong well-being”
So, I not only keep your teeth healthy and give you a beautiful smile, but I will teach you how this is linked into your overall health and longevity.

Dr Zaiyou Chen Dentist
Hello, my name is Zaiyou but you can call me Zai (rhymes with pie). I was born in China and moved to New Zealand with my family when I was 6, so I consider myself a Kiwi. The combination of having a weird fascination with teeth and having braces in high school inspired me to study at the University of Otago where I completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (with First Class Honours).
I am interested in all aspects of dentistry ranging from fillings to root canal therapy. But what brings me the most joy is working together with my patients to achieve healthy teeth and a confident smile. I aspire to always deliver quality and holistic care, and to break the negative stereotypes of a dental visit.
I’m an avid volleyballer (indoor and beach) and love travelling outdoors to discover sights never seen before. Having been raised in a Chinese and Kiwi background, I am fluent in both English and Mandarin. Aside from dentistry and volleyball, you’ll find me eating food, going on road trips and working out in the gym. I can talk to you about all of these things, quite often while your mouth is full, so you can’t talk back.
Dr Bodon Li Dentist
Hello, my name is Bodon (Yitao). I was born in China. I grew up in the hospital due to my father’s profession and because of that I was exposed to different areas of healthcare. When I was 15, I moved to New Zealand for high school. After being inspired by my cousin who is a dentist in Australia, I headed down to the University of Otago to complete my Bachelor of Dental Surgery.
I enjoy all aspects of dentistry. I believe dentistry is not only about teeth, but also a foundation of health. It helps patients improve their life quality and gain confidence. I aim to provide patient-centred, evidence-based, and stress-free dental treatments.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing basketball and watching NBA. I am a big fan of Lakers.

Hi, my name is Morrigan. I grew up in Tauranga until I was 3, I then moved to Taupo with my family and have lived here ever since.
I started working at the dentists end of January 2022, and have enjoyed it so far while gaining new skills each day. Being a sterilisation nurse while also helping with some dental nursing has been great to learn and am excited to keep learning. Everyone is really friendly at the clinic, and is a great work environment to work amongst.
In my spare time I like going to the Hawkes Bay to visit my friends and partner, but also love a weekend at home out on the boat when it’s good weather. I spent 2020 in Wellington for University and 2021 in Auckland, but am now doing it via correspondence through AUT.
Hi my name is Jade and I became part of The Dentist's family just over four and a half years ago. It was in this family that I developed a genuine love for all things dental. What I found most rewarding was the interaction with each patient in sometimes very unnerving circumstances and being able to comfort, and reassure them with a warm smile and familiar face.
I became head nurse and gained my NZDA certification in 2019 which has always been a personal goal of mine so it was great to finally achieve this.
I have two very energetic children that keep me on my toes! In my spare time I enjoy all things fitness related, whether it be training in the gym or going for a bike ride.
Hi I’m Kylie
I am a mum of 3, I have 2 boys and a girl. I grew up in a small town called Taihape and moved to Taupō in 2010. After studying and working in the hospitality industry for over 10years, I was looking to try something new. An opportunity arose in 2016 to work at The Dentists Taupō so I jumped at the chance and have never regretted it since. I took an extended maternity leave at the end of 2017 and returned back to work here in May 2020.
Working at the dentists has been one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve worked in. I love that no two days are the same and the team here are always willing to pass on their knowledge and help up skill anyone that is keen to learn.
I love to have a good conversation with the patients, get to know them and help them feel welcome and comfortable from the moment they walk through the doors.
Outside of work I love to spend time with family and friends and do a bit of painting.
Hey, I'm Megan. I am original from England and have been living in New Zealand for the last 8 years. I recently moved to Taupo at the end of 2020 with my partner and two six year old children.

I spend most of my spare time with my children and with family.
